If you are looking for a beautiful cookbook to guide you through making some fabulous holiday desserts or looking for the perfect cookbook for the chocolate lover in your life, Paul Young’s The Joy of Chocolate is a great choice. I’ve cooked two of the recipes—the Chocolate Truffle Torte and the Triple-Chocolate Sandwich Cookies. The torte was surprisingly quick and simple, and looks like one you’d get from a high-end pastry shop or at a fabulous restaurant. The cookies are so decadent and comforting that I could eat one every night. One—they are very rich and satisfying. The author knows so much about chocolate and how to work with it, and is so good at explaining, that I felt like a real pastry chef following the recipes. If you bake at the holidays, use this book and you will seriously impress your friends and family.
