Staff Reviews
The second installment slows things quite a bit after the previous book’s explosive ending. Delving into long-term relationship consequences, character back stories as well as introducing new characters including a mysterious but magnetic pirate captain, the book is more about world building. There’s much ado about a magic tournament and our leads finding their way back to each, only to have an insidious evil (a thousand times more powerful than the one before) lurking about (making me very nervous) that comes in at the end for one hell of a cliff hanger!
