Contributors of Speak and Speak Again

GGP proudly welcome the Contributors of the new anthology, Speak and Speak Again on Thursday, September 14th at 7:00 p.m.

Pact Press presents Speak and Speak Again,the first anthology in a series designed to spark conversation and protest.

Contained within are  thoughtful, thought-provoking essays on immigration, women's rights, race relations, and concerns for American society. We are honored to provide a medium in which these authors can Speak and Speak Again. Pact Press is immensely proud, in the sale of this anthology, to support the fine work of the Southern Poverty Law Center in their battle against discrimination. All net proceeds from the sale of this anthology are being donated to the Southern Poverty Law Center to help fund their battle against discrimination.

Our speakers for the evening are:

Laurie Doyle is the author of World Gone Missing, a book of short stories coming from Regal House Publishing this October. Her work has appeared in The Los Angles Review, Jabberwock Review, Under the Sun, and elsewhere. She teaches creative writing at the San Francisco Writers' Grotto& UC Berkeley.

Stephen D. Gutierrez is the author of Elements, Live from Fresno y Los and The Mexican Man in hIs Backyard. His short stories, essays and plays have been widely published and produced.

Lily Iona MacKenzie has published fiction, poetry, essays, and memoir in over 150 American and Canadian magazines. She is the author of four novels: Fling! (2015), Curva Peligrosa (to be released in fall, 2017), Freefall: A Divine Comedy (coming in 2018), and Tillie: Portrait of a Canadian Girl in Training (2019). Cheryl A. Ossola's poetry appears in Switchback and Speak and Speak Again. She has written for San Francisco Ballet, Dance Magazine, and other arts publications/organizations, and she teaches at the San Francisco Writers’ Grotto and UC Berkeley Extension. Her debut novel is forthcoming from Regal House Publishing.

Rob Waters is a journalist and travel writer who writes about health, science, world culture and criminal justice. He has covered biotechnology for Bloomberg News, was a senior editor at WebMD, and editor-in-chief of the Tenderloin Times, a San Francisco community newspaper. His articles have appeared in Business Week, San Francisco magazine,, Sierra, Columbia Journalism Review, and the Los Angeles Times.
